Markets continue to trade dull

Slow transactions during the past hour saw another lifeless trading session. The Sensex at 19,917 slipped down 66 points, while the Nifty traded sideways at 5,966 down 14 points.

Midcap and smallcap stocks traded marginally in the negative, with the BSE Mid-cap index at 7,606 and the small-cap at 9,324.

Hindalco Industries up 2% and Sterlite industries up 1% remained unchanges at the Sensex top gainers list, at Rs 239 and Rs 182 respectively.

Losers were Tata Motors at Rs 1,317 down 2%, and BHEL at Rs 2,275 and ICICI Bank at Rs 1,116, both down 1%.

The Consumer Durables index was the sectoral gainer at 6,041 up 1%, followed by the FMCG index at 3,562 and the Metal index at 17,127.

Consumer Durables stocks leading the pack were Titan Industries at Rs 3,398 up 2%, followed by Videocon Industries at rs 219 and Gitanjali Gems at Rs 199, both up 1%.

The Auto index continued as the highest sectoral loser down 1% at 9,952.
