Markets continue to trade listless

The Sensex continues to trade in the red shedding 33 points at 19,949 and the Nifty is down 11 points at 5,968. The broader markets remains static with the midcaps flat and the smallcap gaining 0.1%

Amongst the sectoral indices, The metal index was up nearly 1% at 17,170, followed by the Consumer Durables index at 6,037, also up nearly 1%, and the FMCG index at 3,549, up marginally by 0.3%.

The PSU, Oil & Gas and Auto indices were the laggards in trade. The Auto index was down 1% at 9,981. Top losers in this space were Ashok Leyland at Rs 63, tata Motors at Rs 1,325, both down 2%, and Hero Honda at Rs 1,904 down 1%.

Hindalco Industries at Rs 238 was the top metal stock, followed by Sesa Goa at Rs 315, both up 2%, and then National Aluminium at Rs 380 up 1%.

Top losing scrips on the Sensex are Tata Motors at Rs 1,322 down 2%, ICICI Bank at Rs 1,118 and BHEL at Rs 2,283, both down 1%.

Top gainers are Hindalco Industries at Rs 239 up 2%, Sterlite Industires at Rs 183 and Tata Steel at Rs 667, both up 1%.
