Markets continue to trade in red, after a firm start in the morning. Realty and IT stocks are the major laggards.
The Sensex is now down 51 points at 19,890. Nifty is down 20 points at 5,970. Earlier in the day, the NSE index had touched a high of 6,007 but dropped to a low of 5,953.
CNX IT index is down 0.7% at 6,547. Infosys has shed 1% at Rs 2,986. First Source, CMC, Wipro and GTL are some of the other losers in the index.
CNX Realty index has dropped 0.6% at 479. Realty index losers include HDIL, Unitech and DLF.
Among the Nifty stocks, Cairn India has dropped 1.3% to Rs 329. Hero Honda has slipped 1.2% to Rs 1,791.
Sunzlon, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Kotak Bank have shed around 1% each in trades.
Meanwhile, Ranbaxy has gained 2.5% at Rs 570 - continuing yesterday's smart run. ONGC has added 1.5% to Rs 1,423.
Sterlite, Mahindra & Mahindra, ACC, NTPC and IDFC are some of the other gainers.
