The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 16,852, down 198 points

The NSE Nifty has ended (provisional) at 5,029, down 65 points.

The Sensex is now down 188 points at 16,863. The Nifty is down 59 points at 5,036.

The markets have once again slipped after recovering from the early losses. The Sensex touched a high of 17,001 and is now down 186 points at 16,051.

The Nifty is down 66 points at 5,028.

Larsen & Toubro has shed 3.2% at Rs 1,475. Tata Steel has dropped 3% to Rs 628.

Sun Pharma, ONGC and TCS have declined 2% each to Rs 1,432, Rs 1,116 and Rs 756, respectively.

Tata Power, Infosys, HDFC Bank, DLF and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped 1.55 each. Other stocks in the red include SBI, ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra.

However, BHEL has jumped 3.3% at Rs 2,373 following a 35% in Q3 net profit to Rs 1,072 crore.

FMCG major, ITC, has added 3.2% to Rs 252. The company's net profit has added 27% to Rs 1,144 crore.

Market heavyweight, Reliance, has given up some of its gains and is now flat at Rs 1,056. Earlier, the company announced a 16% jump in Q3 net profit at Rs 4,008 crore.

The BSE market breadth is negative. Out of 2,895 stocks traded, 2,055 have declined while 784 have advanced.
