The Sensex continues to hold most of its gains and is now up 421 points at 14,469.
The BSE Bankex has soared 5.4% to 6,952, and the Realty index has surged 4% to 4,942.
SBI has zoomed 6.5% to Rs 1,394, and ICICI Bank has soared 5.5% to Rs 669.
Reliance Infrastructure has surged over 5% to Rs 983. BHEL and HDFC Bank have rallied over 4.5% each to Rs 1,707 and Rs 1,271, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates, HDFC and Tata Steel have gained around 4% each at Rs 163, Rs 2,340 and Rs 594, respectively.
Reliance Communications, Maruti and DLF have advanced over 3.5% each to Rs 400, Rs 653 and Rs 485, respectively.
Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro, Wipro and Bharti Airtel are up over 3% each at Rs 431, Rs 2,583, Rs 427 and Rs 828, respectively.
Out of 2,602 stocks traded so far, 1,758 have advanced, 743 have declined and 101 are unchanged.
