Markets flat; recover lost ground

The Sensex has recovered and is now flat at 15,498, 19 points down. The NSE Nifty is now at 4,600, down three points.

The Sensex recovers partially and is now at 15,450, down 68 points. The index, however, is still in the negative due to sustained selling among the select frontliners.

ITC has declined nearly 3% to Rs 231. HDFC and Jaiprakash Associates have shed 2.5% each to Rs 2,304 and Rs 219, respectively.

Wipro and Hero Honda have slipped over 2% each to Rs 504 and Rs 1,477, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and ICICI Bank have decreased over 1.5% each to Rs 258, Rs 2,027 and Rs 743, respectively.

Among the Nifty stocks,HCL Technologies has plunged 4.5% to Rs 270.

ONGC has surged 4.5% to Rs 1,217. Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 1.5% each to Rs 478 and Rs 1,183, respectively.

Hindalco and Sterlite have advanced over 1% each to Rs 110 and Rs 667, respectively.

The NSE Nifty is now at 4,580, down 24 points.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,538 stocks, 1,320 have advanced and 1,140 have declined so far.
