Market is swinging between zones owing to selling in the auto and the FMCG stocks and some amount of strength in the IT stocks. The Sensex is now at 17,097, up 21 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,124, up seven points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Bharti Airtel and Sun Pharma have advanced 1% each to Rs 291 and Rs 1,659, respectively.
Sterlite, NTPC, Wipro, TCS and Tata Power have added 0.5% each.
Hindustan Unilever has slipped 2% to Rs 234. Hero Honda, Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 1% each to Rs 1,908, Rs 1,121 and Rs 1,565, respectively.
The market breadth is neutral, out of 2,486 shares traded, 1,204 have declined and 1,198 have advanced so far on the NSE.
Among the sectoral indices, the auto and the FMCG indices have declined 1% each.
Bharat Forge has slipped 2% and Bajaj Auto has declined 1% on the auto index.
The IT index on the other hand has added 0.5% each at 5,316.
