Markets move higher; ICICI Bank up 3%

The markets have extended gains and is now at 16,153, up 230 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,827, up 69 points.

ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced around 3% each to Rs 824 and Rs 132, respectively.

Hero Honda, Reliance and Tata Steel have added 2% each at Rs 1,658, Rs 1,005 and Rs 532, respectively.

The other major gainers are Mahindra & Mahindra, ACC, DLF, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, up 1.5% each.

Tata Motors is the sole loser on the Sensex, down 1% at Rs 1,264.

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,756 shares traded, 1,719 have advanced and 956 have declined so far on the BSE.

The BSE metal, realty and oil & gas indices have advanced 2% each to 15,679 and 3,379, respectively.
