After some range bound movement, the markets are finally moving upwards. The Sensex is at 18,775, up 115 points and the Nifty has added 28 points at 5,636.The smallcap index and the benchmark index is in line at 0.6% and the midcap index is at 0.7%.
On the BSE sectoral indices, there are no major changes. Bankex continues to lead followed by PSU, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods. Oil & Gas and Health Care continue to be in the red at the bottom of the chart.Auto index is flat and FMCG and Teck has marginally moved up.
Tata Steel,SBI and HDFC Bank up 2.5% follwed by Mahindra & Mahindra, ICICI Bank and NTPC gaining nearly 2% are the top gainers on the Sensex.
Cipla down nearly 2%, Tata Motors, ACC,Reliance Infrastructure and ITC shedding 1% each arethe major losers on the Sensex.
Market breadth continues to be posititve.1672 stocks have advanced while 1228 have declined.
