Markets have pared some of its early gains on declining IT stocks.
Markets opened in the green on positive cues from global markets. From there the Sensex surged to a high of 17,599. However, the index started slipping thereafter and is now up 52 points at 17,561.
Most of the sectoral indices are in green, barring IT. IT index has slipped 0.6% to 5,225 as heavyweight Infosys declined.
ONGC has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,321 Jaiprakash Associates gas added 1.4% to Rs 130.
Tata Motors has advanced 1.3% to Rs 773. Hindalco and TCS have moved up around 1% each to Rs 145 and Rs 739.
DLF, ITC and Tata Steel have also advanced in moning trades.
However, Infosys remains soft. The stock is trading down 1.5% at Rs 2,726.
BSE market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,389 stocks traded, 1,696 have advanced while 608 have declined.
