After touching a low, the markets have moved up into the positive range. The Sensex is up seven points at 18,245 while the Nifty continues to be flat at 5,485. Meanwhile, the broader markets continue to be firm. The smallcap index and the midcap index is up 0.8% as compared to the benchmark index at 0.04%. There is no significant change in the Asian markets either.
On the BSE sectoral indices, Realty has extended gains and is up 1.2% followed by Auto and Teck. The IT index has slipped at 0.8% and the Capital Goods have gone into the negative along with Bankex, FMCG, Oil & Gas anad Matal.
Hero Honda up nearly 3% ia the top gainer followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Cipla, Infosys and ONGC adding 1%-2%.
Jindal Steel and RIL down 1% are the top losers. Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco, Tata Steel, ITC, Wipro are the other significant losers.
Market breadth marginally positive. 1767 stocks have advanced while 1063 have declined.
