The Sensex continues on its recovery path and is inching close to the day's high. It is 45 points up at 18,159 and the Nifty returns into the green, up nine points at 5449.
In the sectoral indices, IT backed by TCS and Infosys continue to top the charts. Realty, up 0.6%, continues its good run for the third consecutive day. DLF up 1.4% is the leading mover in the realty space follwed by Ackruti City and Indiabulls Real Estate. Meanwhile, power is up 0.7%, thanks to Crompton Greaves which gained nearly 3% at Rs 282. And BHEL, Reliance Infracture and Adani Power have added 2% each.
The major gainers on the Sensex are TCS, which has gained 3% at Rs 858. Infosys has jumped 2.6% to Rs 2,859 and Wipro is up 2% at Rs 421.
BHEL and Reliance Infrastructure have added 2.2% each to Rs 2,520 and Rs 1,145, respectively.
Reliance Communications has advanced 2% to Rs 178. DLF, Larsen & Toubro, Hero Honda, Hindustan Unilever and Maruti Suzuki are the other prominent gainers.
Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has dropped 1.3% to Rs 325. ACC and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped over 1% each to Rs 821 and Rs 118, respectively.

ITC, HDFC Bank and Tata Steel have shed nearly 1% each. Other losers include ONGC, Sterlite and SBI.
The BSE market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,924 stocks traded, 1,572 have advanced while 1,241 have declined.
