In line with the pre market indications, the Sensex has opened flat at 19,984 and the Nifty too started trading flat at 5,993. However, the broader markets have opened in the negative with the smallcap and the midcap down 0.2% and 0.07% respectively.
Among the sectoral indices, HealthCare is the top gainer up 0.3% followed by Metal and Oil & Gas gaining 0.2% each. Meanwhile, Bankex, Realty, PSU, Auto and Consumer Durables have opened in the negative. Bankex,the biggest loser started trading down 1%
The top gainers on the Sensex in the opening tardes are Bharti Airtel up 2% followed by Jindal Steel, Hero Honda and Sterlite adding 1% each. Maruti Suzuki, BHEL,ONGC, Cipla, Wipro and Hindalco moving up 0.6% - 0.8% are the other noteable gainers.
ICICI Bank down 3.5%, SBI losing 2%,Tata Motors, Reliance Communications, HDFC Bank, Jaiprakash Associates and DLF shedding 1% each are the other noteable losers.
The market breadth is negative. Of the total 1515 stocks traded, 850 stocks have declined while 602 have advanced.
