After a good start, the markets have slipped. The Sensex is at 18,714 up 47 points and the Nifty has trimmed its gains and is up eight points at 5,615. On the other hand, the smallcap index and the midcap index continues it good run as compared to the benchmark index.
On the sectoral indices, Bankex continues to lead followed bu Auto, FMCG and Consumer Durables. Teck has once again slipped into the red along with IT,HealthCare,Metal and Oil & Gas. The draggers in the Oil & Gas space are BPCL and GAIL down 0.5%, IOC and RNRL shedding 0.4% each.
The gainers on the Sensex are HDFC Bank (Rs 2230) up 2%, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 278), Mahindra & Mahindra (Rs 645), State Bank of India (Rs 2937)and ICICI Bank (Rs 1038)adding 1% each.
On the losers side are Sterlite (Rs 164), Cipla (Rs 306), Hindalco (Rs 178)and ACC (Rs 980) down 1% each. Wipro (Rs 406), Reliance Communications (Rs 163) and Tata power (Rs 1263) follows.
