Things have got better in the past one hour. The markets have added on to their gains are are now trading at the day's highs; the Sensex is quoting at 17103, higher by 181 points and the Nifty is at 5131, up 52 points. The midcap index is up 53 points at 6919 and the smallcap index is up 81 points at 8681. Realty, oil and auto sectors are in the limelight. All the sectoral indices on the BSE are in the green. Oil, realty and auto stocks are occupying centrestage.
Meanwhile, the industrial output in April rose much faster than expected at 17.6% from a year earlier.
The oil space is going strong; RIL has strengthened by 2.3% at Rs 1039 and Cairn India has added 1.4% at Rs 301. In the realty space, HDIL has soared by 5.5% at Rs 232, DLF has gained 1.8% at Rs 267 and Indiabulls Real Estate has added 1.7% at Rs 152. And in the auto space, M&M has raced ahead by 3.6% at Rs 613, Tata Motors has strengthened by 1.1% at Rs 768 and Maruti has added 0.6% at Rs 1355.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel is now down 2.2% at Rs 278, ONGC has lost 0.9% at Rs 1177 and RCom has shed 0.6% at Rs 173.
The market breadth is positive. Out of 2608 stocks traded on the BSE, there are 1782 advancing stocks as against 716 declines.
