Markets to remain closed on election day in Mumbai

Stocks markets will remain closed on April 24 on account of voting for the general elections in constituencies in Mumbai. "The exchange hereby notifies April 24 as a trading holiday on account of parliamentary elections in Mumbai," said a notice on the National Stock Exchange website. The March derivatives contracts expiry, which was to be held on the same day, has now been pushed one-day ahead to April 23, said a notice on the BSE website.
