The Sensex is hovering around the dotted line and is now at 17,474, up 10 points. The Nifty is at 5,228, down four points.
Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Reliance Communications, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Industries have advanced over 1% each to Rs 189, Rs 128 and Rs 1,070, respectively.
The other major gainers are Tata Power, ONGC and ICICI Bank, up 1% each.
On the losing side there is HUL, down 2% at Rs 251. The other prominent losers are Tata Steel, SBI, Hero Honda and Hindalco, down 1% each.
The market breadth is fairly positive, out of 2,631 shares traded, 1,410 have advanced and 1,123 have declined so far on the BSE.
The BSE midcap and the smallcap indices are flat at 6,998 and 8,891, respectively.
The oil&gas is the major sectoral gainer, up 1% at 10,372. On the other hand realty and IT indices are down 0.5% each at 3,056 and 5,331, respectively.
Anant Raj Industries and Sobha Developers are down 3% each at Rs 105 and Rs 266, respectively on the realty index.
HCL Technology and Oracle Financials have slipped 1% each to Rs 377 and Rs 2,174, respectively on the BSE It index.
