Mirroring weak global cues, the Sensex slipped to a low of 17,549 within few minutes of the opening bell. Both the bankex and the oil&gas indices continue to exhibit weakness, down 0.5% each. The Sensex has however recovered partially and is now flat at 17,608, down 30 points. The NSE Nifty is 12 points lower at 5,260.
Among the list of losers on the Sensex, HDFC Bank, Reliance Communications anD DLF are down 1% each.
While Tata Motors, TCS and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced 1% each to Rs 782, Rs 825 and Rs 152, respectively.
The market breadth is positive, out of 1,278 shares traded ,677 have advanced and 548 have declined so far on the BSE.
