Maruti Suzuki India has moved higher by 2% to Rs 1,195 on reporting a 20% year-on-year (y-o-y) jump in its total sales in June 2012, on back of robust sales growth in Swift, Estillo, Ritz and DZire.
The company has sold 96,597 units, including exports, in June against 80,298 units sold in the corresponding period of last year.
“Total domestic sales in the month under review were up 19.3% at 83,531 units from 70,020 units sold in May 2012. Exports however, climbed by 27% at 13,066 units from 10,278 units which were shipped out in the corresponding month of 2011,” it said in a press release.
The stock opened at Rs 1,175 and has bounced back by almost 4% from day’s low of Rs 1,154 after the announcement of June sales numbers. A combined around 100,000 shares have changed hands on the counter till early noon deals.
