Mentha oil prices continued to slide by Rs 4.60 to Rs 1,102.60 per kg in futures market today, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by the fall in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March contract declined by Rs 4.60, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 1,102.10 per kg, with a business volume of single lot.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February traded marginally lower by Rs 1.80, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 1,110.80 per kg, with an open interest of one lot.

The fall in mentha oil prices was attributed to offloading of positions by speculators following sluggish demand at spot markets, traders said.
