Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 8.60 to Rs 860 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced positions amid supply pressure in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November fell by Rs 8.60, or 0.99%, to Rs 860 per kg, with a business turnover of Rs 67 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October declined by Rs 8.10, or 0.94%, to Rs 847.20 per kg in 369 lots.
Traders said the fall in mentha prices at futures market was mostly due to off-loading of positions amid increased arrivals from producing regions of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
