Mentha oil prices fell 1.23% to Rs 856.80 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking amid slackened spot demand.

Besides, increased arrivals of the commodity in the physical market from producing regions also put pressure on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May fell by Rs 10.70, or 1.23%, to Rs 856.80 per kg, with a business volume of 74 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil prices for April delivery lost Rs 10.10, or 1.18%, to Rs 845.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 301 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators amid a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, traders said.
