Mentha oil down almost 2% on sluggish demand

Prices went down as participants reduced exposures

Mentha oil prices fell by 1.74% to Rs 945.50 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposures due to sluggish demand from consuming industries.

Besides, increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract fell by Rs 16.70, or 1.74%, to Rs 945.50 per kg in 329 lots.

The June contract traded lower by Re 1, or 0.11%, to Rs 937.50 per kg in 188 lots.

Market analysts attributed fall in mentha oil futures to subdued demand from consuming industries at existing levels, increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
