Mentha oil down by 1.14% on weak demand, higher supply

Speculators trimmed their holdings, triggered by weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market

Mentha oil prices moved down by 1.14% to Rs 910.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their holdings, triggered by weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
 
Further, adequate stocks following higher supplies also weighed on prices.
 
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July month moved down by Rs 10.50, or 1.14%, to Rs 910.70 per kg in business turnover of 777 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August contract shed Rs 8.10, or 0.87%, to Rs 925 per kg in 168 lots.
 
Market analysts said speculators reduced their holdings amid low demand from consuming industries in the spot market against higher supplies mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
