Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 6.50, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 835.10 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for October contract delivery declined by Rs 6.50, or 0.77 per cent, to Rs 835.10 per kg, with a business volume of 501 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil for September delivery eased by Rs 6.55, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 823.20 per kg, with a turnover of 970 lots. While November mentha oil fell by Rs 5.70, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 846 per kg, with a business volume of 80 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices was mostly due to profit -booking by speculators and a weak trend in the spot market on subdued demand, traders said.
