Mentha oil continued to show an upward trend and rose by Rs 12.40 or 1.72 per cent to Rs 729.90 per kg in futures trade today on less arrivals in spot markets against strong exports demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for current-month June contract rose by Rs 12.40 or 1.72 per cent to Rs 729.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 951 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July-month contract traded Rs 11.60 or 1.60 per cent higher to Rs 735.50 per kg, with a business volume of 393 lots, while August contract inched up by Rs 10 or 1.35 per cent to Rs 750 per kg, with a business turnover of 204 lots.

Traders said increased exports and domestic demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions pushed up mentha oil prices at futures market.
