Mentha oil extends gains on strong demand

Commodity up 0.34% as traders enlarge positions on positive cues from spot market

Continued its rising streak for the second day, mentha oil prices advanced by 0.34 per cent to Rs 851.30 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in enlarging positions amid positive cues from spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June added Rs 2.90, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 851.30 per kg in business turnover of 80 lots.

The May contract traded higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 838.20 per kg in 142 lots.

Analysts said the rise in mehtha oil prices at futures trade was attributed to a firming trend at spot market on strong demand from consuming industries amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
