Mentha oil fell by 0.92% to Rs 1,162.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking amid a weak trend in the spot market on sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September fell by Rs 10.90, or 0.92%, to Rs 1,162.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,099 lots.

The October contract declined by Rs 10, or 0.83%, to Rs 1,180.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 709 lots.

The fall in mentha oil futures prices was due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend in the spot market on sluggish demand, traders said.
