Mentha oil futures prices fell by Rs 26.40 to Rs 1,149.50 per kg today after speculators reduced positions following increased arrivals against sluggish spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October plunged by Rs 26.40, or 2.25%, to Rs 1,149.50 per kg in a business turnover of 531 lots.

The November contract lost Rs 25.40, or 2.13%, to Rs 1,164.30 per kg in 47 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in mentha futures to increased arrivals from key producing region of Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh against sluggish demand from consuming industries.
