Mentha oil fell by Rs 13.90 to Rs 1,390 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by weak trend in the spot market on sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, September mentha oil fell by Rs 13.90, or 0.99%, to Rs 1,390 per kg in business turnover of 112 lots.

The October contract declined by Rs 12.70, or 0.89%, to Rs 1,413.50 per kg in 1,287 lots.

The fall in mentha oil futures prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend in the spot market on sluggish demand, traders said.
