Mentha oil prices traded marginally lower by Rs 0.80 or 0.11 per cent to Rs 724.50 per kg in futures market today owing to slack demand.

Increased arrivals from the producing regions, reduced offtake by pharmaceutical units also influenced the trading sentiment here.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for July contract traded lower by Rs 0.80, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 724.50 per kg, with an open interest of 2,367 lots.

The oil for delivery in current-month June also shed Rs 0.70, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 713.50 per kg, with an open interest of 2,601 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the spot market against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh helped mentha oil prices to trade lower at futures market.
