Mentha oil fell by Rs 14.90 or 1.78 per cent to Rs 821.20 per kg, as traders booked profits at the existing higher prices amid sluggish demand in spot markets.
Increased arrivals at spot markets from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August-month contract shed Rs 14.90, or 1.78 per cent to Rs 821.20 per kg, with an open interest of 396 lots.
The oil for delivery in June contract also declined by Rs 12.20, or 1.52 per cent to Rs 790.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,938 lots.
Traders said fall in demand at spot markets against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, a major producing centre, pulled down menthol prices at futures trade.
