Mentha oil traded marginally lower by Rs 1.90 to Rs 1,131.70 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits amid subdued demand.

Adequate stocks in the market, following increased arrival from the producing regions, also put pressure on the mentha oil futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for February delivery traded lower by Rs 1.90, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 1,131.70 per kg, with an open interest of just one lot.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March contract shed Rs 1.80, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 1,136.60 per kg, with a business turnover of one lot.

Market analysts said besides profit booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market led to the decline in mentha oil futures prices.
