Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 2.80 to Rs 1,037 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April shed Rs 2.80, or 0.27%, to Rs 1,037 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

The May contract lost 60 paise, or 0.06%, to Rs 965.80, with open interest of a single lot.

Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators amid subdued demand in the spot market.
