Mentha oil futures prices declined by Rs 6.60 to Rs 1,067.20 per kg today as speculators booked profits, amid sluggish spot demand.

Adequate stocks position, following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on mentha oil futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for April contract declined by Rs 6.60, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 1,067.20 per kg, with a business turnover of just two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March contract traded marginally lower by 50 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 1,136.90 per kg, with a trade volume of just one lot.

Market analysts said besides profit booking by speculators and sluggish demand in the spot market led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
