Mentha oil prices declined by Rs 8.10 to Rs 845 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-taking amid fall in demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 8.10, or 0.95%, to Rs 845 per kg, with a business turnover of 203 lots.

June mentha oil traded lower by Rs 8.10, or 0.94%, to Rs 850.30 per kg in 482 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-taking by speculators, fall in spot markets demand led to the decline in mentha oil futures prices.

Increased arrivals in the physical market also put pressure on the prices, they added.
