Mentha oil prices fell further by Rs 23.20 to Rs 1,207 per kg in futures trade today as traders engaged in profit booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the mentha oil futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March month declined by Rs 23.20, or 1.88%, to Rs 1,207 per kg, with a business volume of 473 lots.

Similarly, prices for delivery in May eased by Rs 11.90, or 1.25%, to Rs 938.70 per kg, with a business volume of 48 lots.

Mentha oil prices for delivery in April fell by Rs 11.80, or 1.10%, to Rs 1,060.90 per kg, with an open interest of 204 lots.

Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures prices to profit booking by speculators along with a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand.
