Mentha oil prices moved up by Rs 6.20 to Rs 915.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, aided by pick-up in demand at spot markets.
Restricted arrivals in the physical market also influenced mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 6.20, or 1.02%, to Rs 915.50 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in April moved up by Rs 4.70, or 0.45 %, to Rs 1,051 per kg, with an open interest of three lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators driven by pick-up in spot demand mainly led to the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
