Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 6.20 to Rs 1,104.40 per kg in futures trade today due to pick up in demand in the spot market.

Restricted arrivals from producing region further fueled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for March contract rose by Rs 6.20, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 1,104.40 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contract inched up by Rs 5.80, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 1,098.70 per kg, with an open interest of single lot.

Market analysts said pick up in demand at spot market helped mentha oil futures prices to trade higher.
