Mentha oil futures shot up by Rs 10.90 to Rs 880.10 per kg today as traders enlarged their positions, on the back of pick up in domestic as well as export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July rose by Rs 10.90, or 1.25%, to Rs 880.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 102 lots.

June mentha oil moved up by Rs 7.50, or 0.85%, to Rs 886.10 per kg, with a trade volume of 160 lots.

Trade analysts said speculators enlarged their positions on the back of pick-up in domestic and export demand, which led to the rise in mentha oil futures prices.

Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend, they added.
