Mentha oil futures prices moved up by Rs 13 to Rs 884.40 per kg today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick up in spot market demand against restricted arrivals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June month moved up by Rs 13, or 1.49%, to Rs 884.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 353 lots.

The July contract gained Rs 6.40, or 0.74%, to Rs 871 per kg, with a trade volume of 74 lots.

Market analysts said a better trend at spot markets on pick up in demand from pharmaceutical units against lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
