Mentha oil traded higher by Rs 1.80, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 851.80 per kg in futures trading today after speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in domestic and export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for September-month rose by Rs 1.80, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 851.80 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October-month edged up by Rs 1.10, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 865 per kg in just one lot.

Traders said positions created by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.
