Mentha oil prices traded higher by Rs 4.50, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 879.20 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in domestic and export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for October-month gained Rs 4.50, or 0.51 per cent, to 879.20 per kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the oil traded higher by Rs 4.20, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 889.50 per kg, with a business volume of four lots.

Traders said pick up in domestic and export demand pushed up the prices of mentha oil at futures market.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment to some extent, they said.
