Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1,095.50 per kg in futures trade today supported by pick-up in demand from pharmaceutical units at the physical market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April contract rose by Rs 20, or 1.86 per cent, to Rs 1,095.50 per kg, with business turnover of three lots.

Similarly, the oil for March contract moved up by Rs 15.20, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 1,314.80 per kg, with an open interest of two lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators, supported by pick-up in domestic and export demand, pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
