Mentha oil rose 0.49 per cent to Rs 753 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid increased domestic demand and restricted arrivals from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 3.70, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 753 per kg in a business turnover of 90 lots.

The July contract traded higher by Rs 2.80, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 735.80 per kg in 385 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
