Mentha oil prices gained Rs 15 to Rs 1,230.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by rising demand in the spot market against tight supplies due to less arrivals from producing belts.

At the MCX, the July delivery rose by Rs 15, or 1.21%, to Rs 1,230.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 100 lots.

The June delivery moved up by Rs 13.40, or 1.11%, to Rs 1,226 per kg in 364 lots.

Marketmen said besides rising demand in the spot market, less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
