Snapping a three-day losing streak, mentha oil prices rebounded by Rs 28 to Rs 1,194 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in industrial demand.

Tight supplies from producing region, Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, also supported the recovery move in mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 28, or 2.40%, to Rs 1,194 per kg in business turnover of 563 lots.

The May contract gained Rs 24.80, or 2.15%, to Rs 1,180 per kg in 108 lots.

Marketmen said recovery in mentha oil futures to a pick-up in industrial demand amid less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
