Mentha oil maintained an upward trend and prices rose Rs 3.70 to Rs 978.10 per kg in futures trading today on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June gained Rs 3.70, or 0.38%, to Rs 978.10 per kg in business turnover of 116 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in the July contract moved up by Rs 2.70, or 0.27%, to Rs 992 per kg in 636 lots.

Market analysts said apart from rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led an upward trend in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
