Mentha oil prices fell further by Rs 14.80 to Rs 1,115 per kg in futures market today on continued profit-booking by speculators amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

In addition, adequate stock availability following increased arrivals in the spot market from producing regions also put pressure on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for March contract delivery fell by Rs 14.80, or 1.30%, to Rs 1,115 per kg in 270 lots, while April futures declined by Rs 8.70, or 0.81%, to Rs 1,056.70 per kg in 90 lots.

Likewise, the oil for May contract delivery lost Rs 7.60, or 0.78%, to Rs 960 per kg with a business turnover of 11 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market also weighed on mentha oil futures prices.
