Mentha oil prices rose by 0.21 per cent to Rs 826 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets amid restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January rose by Rs 1.70, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 826 per kg in a business turnover of 120 lots.

February mentha oil added Rs 1.50, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 837 per kg in 29 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions on pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh that led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
